Not everyone who chooses to commit to the 30 Days to Healthy Living Program with Arbonne jumps in all at once. Our friend, Json Marruffo was approaching 40 and wanted to cross that milestone with great health and energy, but was feeling pretty crappy when we connected with him last year about this time. He was always tired, not sleeping well, overweight, and on-the-go. He knew he wanted to make a change but was skeptical of just another fad diet scheme.
We started sharing with him about this special program with Arbonne and suggested that he start with one simple new habit. Change breakfast. Start the day with a healthy vegan protein shake, and see if you can keep that up for 30 days.
He did, and the rest is history. After a month and a half of that habit, he was able to jump in more easily to the full 30 Days Program, and even did a second month to achieve greater results. Overall he’s lost almost 50 pounds, and has a new normal based on new healthy habits.
We interviewed him tonight and got the full, behind-the-scenes scoop on the thought processes along his journey. We had been walking with him every step of the way, but it was still neat for us to hear how much the support meant to him – from us, his family, his colleagues and the Private Facebook Group.
Some things from his story that may be helpful if you are considering this program:
Start small – If you don’t feel like you’re up for a handful of new habits, start with breakfast. Keep it simple. Fill your Vegan Arbonne Protein shake with spinach, frozen berries, chia seeds, and fiber, and get your day started right.
Decide – Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? It’s time to commit. Decide that this is going to be your “harajuku moment” and don’t look back. Make a change that you want to stick with for the long haul.
Garner Support – We can’t do this alone. Arbonne’s 30 Days program inherently has the support from the consultant who invited you as well as the Facebook Group Facilitator and hundreds of others doing around the country doing it with you. But it’s also wise to solicit support from those closest to you. Your family, especially. Json got his family on board, and his kids were surprised that healthy food could taste so good!
Surprise Yourself – Some of the surprising byproducts of the program for Json included: dinner time prep conversations with his kids, no more snoring, colleagues becoming inspired and more mindful of eating healthy, and an overall sense of just feeling great! All of those things were even better benefits than the weight loss! You never know all the symptoms that may be remedied by just eating organic, real foods and staying away from the nutrient-weak convenient foods and cleansing your body of a long-term build up of toxins.
